Zohran Mamdani Vows a 'Fresh Chapter' for The Big Apple in Inaugural Address
On his inauguration day in office, Zohran Mamdani pledged to “transform” New York City, promising “a new era” and an ambitious beginning to his administration.
An Unprecedented Leader
The young democratic socialist, who just a year ago remained a virtually unknown state assemblyman, is the city's first mayor of South Asian descent. He also made history by being the inaugural to be sworn in using the Islamic holy text.
